The Art and Grind of 3D Printing Miniatures: New Scales, New Challenges

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been deep in the intricate world of slicing miniatures for 3D printing. Exciting news—our collection has expanded with two new scale options: 32mm and 20mm. That means we now have over 100 additional sets available! But with this expansion comes the painstaking task of rescaling every miniature and preparing them for flawless 3D printing. And let me tell you—it’s a long and tedious process.

For those of you familiar with resin printing, you’ll understand the struggle of adding supports. I handle this entirely manually. While I do use the island finder in Lychee for guidance, every support is added by hand. The process is slow, and cloning supported geometry is a nightmare—the program's limitations make it a grind, to say the least. But I’m making progress, and even as more new items hit the shop, I’ll keep pushing through.

Our Etsy store is where you’ll find all the latest additions, with eBay listings to follow. There’s a decent backlog I’m working through, so expect more items to pop up soon. Tomorrow, I’m dedicating the entire day to getting more of these ready and added.

These new scale offerings have also delayed some of my other projects, including Patreon. I’ve hit pause for this month as my focus has shifted to preparing the new products. That said, the creativity hasn’t stopped—I’m happy to share that the Normandy Commercial Building is nearing completion and should be released soon. Oh, and in the meantime, I’ve added the Chapel to the collection!

Stay tuned for more updates as I continue to tackle the workload and bring these exciting new pieces to life.
